The Granary

Five star (Gold) luxury awaits you at our beautiful self-catering cottage on the border of the Lincolnshire limestone heath and the Witham Valley

The Granary is a beautifully converted Lincolnshire barn, dating from 1781 and bursting with character. The spacious bedroom sleeps two (cot available), with exposed wooden beams and crystal chandeliers making it the perfect romantic retreat.

On arrival you will find a basket of local produce to welcome you to Digby. Hopefully we have found something to tickle everyone's tastebuds including traditional Lincolnshire Plum Bread/Grantham Ginger biscuits, real ales from the Eight Sail Brewery at Heckington, Piper's crisps from North Lincolnshire.

The Granary lies within the grounds of our historic Grade II listed Georgian farm; no longer a working farm, we have been restoring it to its former glory since 1997. The Granary, dating from 1781, forms one side of the  original yard and stables and is situated on the very edge of the rural village of Digby. The rear of the property overlooks open countryside, with horse paddocks adjacent to the guest's private garden. A large pond and mature trees provide an idylic backdrop to your holiday.

The cottage is under half an hour from the Medieval city of Lincoln, and within easy reach of the main A15 and A17 roads making it convenient for exploring a wide range of attractions throughout Lincolnshire. Situated on the border of the limestone heath and the Witham fens, this area is ideal for anyone who enjoys outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing and because dogs are welcome there is no reason your 'best friend' should miss out!

The local market town of Sleaford is only fifteen minutes away and the well known towns of Newark and Boston just thirty minutes west and east. There are numerous villages within 5-10 minutes of Digby, including Ruskington, Dorrington, Scopwick, Walcot, Martin and Timberland, all with thriving communities and a variety of pubs, many serving food.

Sympathetic renovation of the Granary was completed in late summer 2010, keeping as many as possible of the original features whilst providing the highest quality accommodation; in the kitchen you can still see the early Victorian horse feeders from its time as a stable.

Underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove makeThe Granary a cosy get-away over the winter months and in summer the enclosed private garden and patio area provide an ideal spot for your summer BBQ.

The fittings and fixtures throughout are of the highest quality, giving the property that luxury feel which is reflected in our prestigious 5 Star Quality in Tourism award. We have endeavoured to provide everything you could need for that perfect self-catering holiday.
